For this assignment you will look at how 3D printers are being used for car design, and you will create your own basic car design using the program Tinkercad.
Part One of Two
In a Google Document, express your thoughts about this video. Title it "3D Printed Car" and consider the following questions for your response:
- Do you think the use of 3D printing can help car designers? Why or why not? (5 pts)
- Do you think that cars would ever be manufactured this way? Explain your reasoning. (5 pts)
- What would you create with a 3D printer? It could be a car, part of a car or any other item. Discuss. (5 pts)
- If you were going to create your own car, which body style would you use (consider the body styles you explored in a previous assignment)? Explain why. (5 pts)

Below are two videos that discuss how to use Tinkercad to create your own automobile design. Watch the videos as they will be helpful when you create your design.
Remember, you are only creating a basic design, and to help guide yourself in your design, decide which body style you want to use.
As a basic design, it is only a starting point, or the first phase of the design, so it is not expected to have every final detail.

In Google Drive write a reflection about your design. Title it "My Basic Automobile Design" and also include a direct link and a few screenshot images of your design. Consider the questions below as you complete your reflection.
- Which body style did you use as a guide when you created your design? Why did you decide to use this body style?
- What are some features that you would want included in the final design that you may not have been able to include in this basic first phase design?
- What name will you give your car and what car manufacturer do you think would be best suited to manufacture this automobile? Explain why.
- What type of drivers do you think would find your automobile appealing (who is the target market)?
- On a scale of one to ten (ten being very difficult), where would you place this assignment of using Tinkercad to create an automobile design? Discuss.
