Stage 3 - The Price is Right

A good budget should help lead you to a successful event. Below are some resources showing how to use spreadsheet formulas, how spreadsheets work, and also what the elements of a good budget look like. Use these resources to first learn the structure of a good spreadsheet budget and then to build and adaptive spreadsheet that responds when new information is entered. For example, if your teacher were to change the number of fans attending the show your spreadsheet should also change total tickets sold as well as total earnings and even profits.

Stage 4 - Classic Concert Poster

There are a lot of people around the world who collect concert posters. Concert posters advertise everything a person needs to know but also in an artistic way.

Here are some things you will want to include in your poster:
  • Images of the 4 musical acts and their names
  • The date and time of the concert
  • The location of the concert
  • The concert's name
  • Price of concert tickets and where to buy them
  • Location
  • Where to find more information (suggestions: website, social media)
  • Click here to see an example using Canva.

Stage 5 - Nothing Tweeter

Traditional advertising like posters is important, but so advertising through social media. You will create a design that will promote your event on social media.
  • As in the previous assignment, you can use Canva to create your promotional material. In fact, Canva has templates specifically for social media promotion design.
  • Make sure to include a hashtag that others can use to promote your event.
  • Also include some sort of incentive for people to share your promotion online (such as a draw for some "SWAG" or a free ticket).
  • Click here to see an example promoting a concert.
  • Share your design with one other classmate to get feedback.
  • After any necessary revisions, download your image (or get the shared link on Canva) and save and share it with your teacher through Google Docs.
  • When you have finished Stage 5, click here to complete the checklist.

The physical space for your event will play a big part in determining what the experience will be like for everyone who attends.
As part of your plan, you will create a 3D-rendering of this space to show what your vision is for this event.
    Instructions
  • You will complete the assignment using Tinkercad
  • If you have never used Tinkercad before, you should watch the tutorial video below after you have created an account. It will show you the basics of Tinkercad, step by step.
  • You will create a personal account and you can join using your existing Google Account. Do not select the option to join a class.
  • Make sure to consider the following elements when creating your event space:

Stage 7 - Very Vibrant Video

Videos are another way to promote your concert/event. In this assignment you will create a short video that would be a good fit to put on social media sites. The video should include the same information as your poster and your social media promotional design. So include the basics such as:
  • The name of the concert/event
  • Who are the main performers
  • Where the concert/event will be
  • When it will be
Also consider effective text, voice overs and music.
